Moroccan Chicken & Apricot Tagine (Click on the title to download)

½ a Heavenly Moroccan Lemon, pulp removed, rinsed under cold tap water, and the rind chopped into small bits

2 Large Onions, diced finely

4 cloves of garlic, diced finely

2 tsp of Cumin powder

2 tsp of Coriander powder

2 tsp of fresh ginger grated or 1 tsp of powdered ginger

2 tsp of fresh turmeric, grated or 1 tsp of powdered turmeric

A few strands of saffron (optional)

Large bunch of fresh coriander

Salt and pepper

5 Chicken Legs, cut at the thigh

100g of dried apricots or dates

A little oil

¾ Cup of Chicken Stock or ¾ cup of water with ½ a chicken stock cube

1. Salt & pepper  the chicken then fry in a little oil to brown over medium high heat. Don’t cook through.
2. Fry the onions, garlic, with ginger & turmeric till fragrant, in the left over oil.
3. Put everything, including the stock, the rind of the Moroccan Lemon and the dried apricots/dates into the pot and turn the heat to low then simmer for about 1 hour.
4. Or you could bake it in an oven proof dish for 1 hour, covered.
5. Squeeze in the Lemon Juice.
6. Eat and mop up the delicious juices with a hearty bread.

Our Jaya One store has been around since June 2009. We’ve had the greatest 3 years and it’s all because of your support for which we are most appreciative and thankful.

It has come to that time however when Jaya One is being upgraded and we’re going to be relocated just a little way from where we were, within the same shopping centre. The map below will point you in the right direction.

To continue serving the deliciousness you’ve all come to expect, we’re going to be closed on Monday and Tuesday, 4th & 5th of June 2012 respectively so that we can get everything spic and span and reopen brighter and more delicious than ever. We shall be opening our doors in the new location within Jaya One on Wednesday, 5th June 2012.

Well the day finally arrived…..the highly anticipated moment of the sugar dress taking to the skies on the spectacular Petronas Twin Towers Skybridge was everything we hoped it would be …..and more!!!!

The evening was amazing on so many levels.

Jessica Minh Ann of J Model Management, the company that organised the Spring Fashion Show walked first in this flowing blue number.

To all you fashionistas out there, the countdown has begun to the J Model Autumn Winter Fashion Show on the 19th March……well it began a few days ago but we’re really on the last lap now!!

In exactly 7 days, Allan’s creation will be showcased as the FIRST sugar dress on the FIRST fashion show being held for the FIRST time (yeah, that’s a tad redundant but what the hey) on the Sky Bridge at the Petronas Twin Towers.  The dress will be worn (gasp!) and walked (double gasp!) on the highest catwalk in the city to which only the most VVVVVIPs will be invited (because the bridge can only take so many) so we are all waiting with bated breath to see this amazing piece of sugar art unveiled.

,,,,and this is what happened. An international competition for the wedding dress was held inviting all budding designers to send in their sketches and this was picked by a panel of international judges……and as it was only given to Allan last week, he’s got a grand total of 12 days to fashion the entire dress!!

We’re all giving Allan our fullest and unbridled support here at the Heavenly House by doing really useful things like making appropriate sympathetic sounds and giving understanding nods……. but honestly, what else can we do but to hang back and watch the master at work, eh?

Well I am not going to reveal any more secrets about what and how right now……just watch this space for more updates!!!
